If you have a BMI of 30+ you are considered to be obese. There are many causes of obesity which may lie in your genes, physical makeup, lifestyle, or combinations of these factors.

You may have struggled to lose weight for years and failed or perhaps you've lost weight only to find that you put it all, and more, back on! We know that this kind of struggle is incredibly frustrating, de-moralising, and tiring. Our treatment sessions will help you to overcome the struggle with your weight and the yo-yo dieting and change your, perhaps toxic, relationship with food so that you can lose weight safely, effectively, and permanently.

Recovery Aims
Treatment is much more than diet and lifestyle advice. The aim is to help you to change your relationship with food from the inside out rather than the other way round. We will support your motivation, dealing with dietary chaos and comfort eating, coping with cravings and triggers, and changing the thinking and attitudes that keep you stuck.

Our Methods
We work in a holistic fashion and don't just dispense diet advice and weigh you (we actually discourage this). Instead we look at changing your relationship with food as well as balancing out your nutrition so that you become a fat burning machine and not a fat making machine. We will support your motivation, dealing with dietary chaos and comfort eating, coping with cravings and triggers, and changing the thinking and attitudes that keep you stuck.

Exercise is an essential component to successful and permanent weight loss and there is the option of including walking/power walking as part of your session.

We follow the treatment pathway outlined by the National Centre for Eating Disorders, the country's foremost authority on eating disorders.

  • An assessment to discuss the current situation and history
  • A thorough health check by a GP to rule out physical causes like diabetes, glands or hormones (advisory)
  • Setting realistic targets together with boosting motivation and commitment to change
  • Nutritional guidance for health, weight control and mood. You may not need to diet and we will discover an eating plan and appropriate activity programme that will help you lose weight effectively without deprivation or pain
  • Work on comfort eating, unhelpful thinking, body image and self esteem
  • If an eating disorder is present we will deal with it and transform your relationship with food
  • Relapse prevention. Making sure that when you lose weight you have all the skills you need to keep it off for good
  • If fat is a family issue, your loved ones may need to meet us for guidance in how best to support you
  • Help to conquer cravings and eating control
  • Skills for managing stress and coping better with life
No Gimmicks!
The sessions we offer are purely about you and making sure you have all the knowledge and skills to successfully, healthily, and permanently lose weight. We don't follow any kind of faddy diets and there are no replacement shakes or diet foods. We won't be pushing you to buy any kind of merchandise.

Free Initial Consultation
We offer a free, no obligation, initial 30 minute consultation. The initial consultation is a way for us to get to know each other, find out if we can work together, and is an opportunity for us to explain how we can go about solving your problems. Please use it to ask any questions you may have. The initial consultation, like our further sessions, is conducted in a relaxed, proactive, and above all, friendly way.

The Sessions
Sessions usually last from between one and two hours depending on the individual and their personalised programme. We ask for an initial commitment to six sessions (nothing very useful can be achieved with less).

Once you have booked a session we will send you a lifestyle questionnaire for completion and return before the session to save valuable time.
